USPSA Receives $31,000 Donation From Para USA
Sedro-Woolley, WA — Para USA, a leading firearms manufacturer, has donated $31,000 to the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA). The funds, which were raised through the sale of two Todd Jarrett signature model pistols specifically designed for USPSA, will be used in part to fund the organization’s Juniors Program.
“Para USA is proud to support the shooting sports and USPSA in particular. As a competitor I have been privileged to compete in the sport of Practical Shooting throughout the United States and the world. This fundraising program is Para USA’s way of showing our deep appreciation of the work USPSA does and to help them continue those efforts,” said Todd Jarrett.
The USPSA/Todd Jarrett signature pistol program was the brainchild of Todd Jarrett and started prior to the 2006 SHOT Show. As holder of several world and national pistol titles, Jarrett understands the importance of providing greater opportunities to recreational shooters and young shooters in particular. That’s why he, Para USA and USPSA agreed to earmark half the funds raised through the program to go toward the USPSA youth outreach efforts.
“Para USA is committed to making the finest pistols for the commercial, competition and law enforcement markets. But we are equally committed to growing the shooting sports which is why we asked USPSA to use part of our donation to focus on further development of their juniors program,” explained Jarrett.
“We are extremely thankful to Para USA and Todd Jarrett for this generous contribution. When we established the program with them we had no idea how successful it would be. Today, the financial support of Para USA makes them our single largest sponsor and a leader in the shooting sports arena,” said Dave Thomas, USPSA Executive Director.
The USPSA Juniors Program has provided support and training for dozens of young competitors, many of whom are now among the top shooters in the world. With this new funding USPSA is able to expand that support by providing logoed gear, training aids and the inaugural Junior Invitational Match to be held in Albany, OR, this coming summer. Additional information concerning program may be found at www.uspsa-juniors.org.
The two Todd Jarrett signature models were limited edition 1911 pistols from which Para USA donated $100 from the sale of each pistol to USPSA. The single-stack model, chambered in .45 ACP with wood grips and a duo-tone finish, was designed for use in USPSA’s Single-Stack Division. The pistol features the Para extended grip safety with speed bump, Ed Brown mainspring housing and magwell, Novak Extreme Duty® adjustable rear sight, and Dawson interchangeable fiber optic front sight.
The second model was a high-capacity pistol chambered in .40 S&W designed to recognize Jarrett’s accomplishment of being the first competitor to win the national title in all four of USPSA’s pistol divisions. This model was a customized competition pistol with a duo-tone finish and featuring a Novak Extreme Duty® adjustable rear sight, a fiber optic front sight and an oversized magwell.
